About the Course

The department conducts four year Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics Engg degree course affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The course content includes the basics of Electrical Engineering and an exhaustive treatment on Electrical Machines, Electrical Networks, Electrical Power Systems, Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Computer Aided Stability and Load Flow analysis. The course also gives a substantial exposure to Analog & Digital Electronics, Power Electronics and Computer System and applications.

The department has Electrical Machine Lab, Relays and High Voltage Lab, Measurement Lab, Control System Lab, Microprocessor Lab, Computer and Simulation Lab and Power Electronics Lab. All the labs are well equipped and house in spacious laboratory halls. Latest packages have been procured for regular and advance users.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

	To be eligibility for admission to the first year of the course the students Shall have passed the two year Pre-University examination (science) conducted by the Karnataka state Pre-University Board,
	OR
	Pass in all subjects of Final examination of the 10+2 years course of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as optional subjects and English as a subject of study,
	OR
	Any other examinations recognized by the University as equivalent there to.
	And
	The candidate shall have secured not less than 45% of marks in Aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the subjects chemistry / Biology / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Science.

	Lateral Entry admission to 2nd year B.E. restricted to Karnataka candidates Holder of the three years’ Diploma granted/awarded by the Board of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka, or any other diploma qualification considered equivalent there to is eligible only through CET allotment for admission to III semester / II year of B.E / B.Tech, in Appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology. Such a candidates Shall have a clear prescribed bridge courses. The minimum qualifying will be 45 % in final examination of the 3 year Diploma course (40 % for SC / ST and OBC category).

	Those candidates who have passed a qualifying examination other than The PUC II examination of the Pre-University Education Board of Karnataka, or Engineering Diploma Examinations of the Board of Technical education of Karnataka, have to obtain eligibility certificate for seeking admission to B.E / B.Tech. Degree course from Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum, or from the principal of concerned Engineering Colleges of Karnataka State.
