About The Course

Civil Engineering is considered to be the most versatile and fundamental branch among all the engineering branches. It is the branch with lot of diversity right from geotechnical sciences to structural engineering, environmental to hydraulics, transportation to hydrology; Civil Engineering can be considered as a single largest branch among all the engineering branches.

The objective of the department is to give an exposure to budding civil engineers to various challenges in the profession and help them in nation building.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

	To be eligibility for admission to the first year of the course the students Shall have passed the two year Pre-University examination (science) conducted by the Karnataka state Pre-University Board,
	OR
	Pass in all subjects of Final examination of the 10+2 years course of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as optional subjects and English as a subject of study,
	OR
	Any other examinations recognized by the University as equivalent there to.
	And
	The candidate shall have secured not less than 45% of marks in Aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the subjects chemistry / Biology / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Science.

	Lateral Entry admission to 2nd year B.E. restricted to Karnataka candidates Holder of the three years’ Diploma granted/awarded by the Board of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka, or any other diploma qualification considered equivalent there to is eligible only through CET allotment for admission to III semester / II year of B.E / B.Tech, in Appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology. Such a candidates Shall have a clear prescribed bridge courses. The minimum qualifying will be 45 % in final examination of the 3 year Diploma course (40 % for SC / ST and OBC category).

	Those candidates who have passed a qualifying examination other than The PUC II examination of the Pre-University Education Board of Karnataka, or Engineering Diploma Examinations of the Board of Technical education of Karnataka, have to obtain eligibility certificate for seeking admission to B.E / B.Tech. Degree course from Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum, or from the principal of concerned Engineering Colleges of Karnataka State.
